Deborah Buehler

D. M. Buehler is an author, ecologist, research analyst and teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Education and a PhD in Animal Ecology. She has studied birds in Panama, Tierra del Fuego (Argentina), Mauritania, Europe, the USA and Canada (including the Arctic). Her work has been published in the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, the literary journal The Awakenings Review, and Heart Strings on Medium. She currently authors a column for the journal Wader Study.

D. M. Buehler draws from her personal experience living and working in Panama to bring depth and authenticity to her debut novel TIARIS: When the Oceans Kissed. With extensive knowledge of biology and birds, and careful research on the history of the canal, she weaves together ecology, historical fiction, and a touch of fantasy to create a captivating story.
